The landscape design of the “zevenbergen” cemetery filled with birk tree’s and oak tree’s gave inspiration to the architectural design of the Yarden Huis Hoogeveen. The floorplan was based on the characteristics of the oak leaf with hallway’s visually connected to the surrounding landscape like light leaf veins between the ceremony program. The birch bark inspired to create a horizontal tactile brick facade only vertically broken trough by the slim window lines like dark vertical tree knots.
